Dear Scientists/Academics,

The Battle of Çanakkale has left a significant impact on both Turkish and world history in terms of its outcomes. This impact has persisted in Turkish public opinion to the present day and has remained a subject of research in the international arena. In this context, the historiography of the Çanakkale battles dates back to very early times and continues to the present day. Indeed, official Turkish military historiography began with the Çanakkale battles in 1916.

In recent years, postgraduate theses conducted at universities, projects supported by public institutions, publishing efforts abroad, and easier access to archives have further enriched historical writing. With all these developments in mind, we, as the Directorate of Çanakkale Battles Gallipoli Historical Site and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, invite you, esteemed scholars, researchers, representatives of public institutions, and our students to our symposium. This symposium aims to encompass various disciplines, introduce new scientific discussions and outputs, provide new perspectives on the historiography of the Çanakkale battles, and facilitate an academic gathering on an international platform.
